Gather Inc ("us", "we", or "our") operates the gatherit.co website (the "Service").
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.
We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, accessible at gatherit.co/terms
Information Collection And Use
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your email address, name, phone number, postal address ("Personal Information").
Log Data
We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.
In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information in order to increase our Service's functionality. These third party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.
Browser Extension
Our Chrome browser extension ("Gather Web Clipper") operates on vendor websites you visit to help you capture product specifications. When you use the extension, the following data is collected and transmitted:
Product data you clip (names, images, pricing, descriptions, attachments) is sent to our servers via the Gather API over HTTPS.
Images from certain vendor websites may be temporarily routed through Cloudinary, a third-party image hosting service, to ensure they are accessible to our servers.
Error and performance data is sent to Sentry, a third-party error monitoring service, to help us diagnose and fix issues. This data includes browser type, extension version, and the hostname (not the full URL) of the page you are on when an error occurs. Authentication tokens, personally identifiable information, and full page URLs are stripped before transmission.
Local storage: The extension stores your authentication token, preferences, and temporary data in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted except as described above.
Cookies
Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive. We use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
Marketing Website Analytics
We use PostHog and Google Analytics on our marketing website to understand which pages and navigation controls people use, how visitors reach the website, and where the demo-request and scheduling process can improve. Website analytics is separate from activity within the Gather application. We do not use this analytics setup for advertising audiences or personalized advertising.
Analytics may begin when you visit unless you have declined collection or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. The first-visit notice lets you accept or decline. Dismissing or ignoring the notice allows otherwise eligible collection to continue; it does not record an affirmative acceptance. We remember your explicit choice for up to 180 days. An expired or unreadable choice does not automatically restart collection.
We use random identifiers limited to this website to connect visits and interactions. The journey identifier lasts no longer than 180 days, without extending its lifetime on each visit. We group website interactions into sessions using 30 minutes of inactivity. We collect page identifiers, interaction types, broad browser and device categories, and limited acquisition categories. We exclude URL query strings, advertising click identifiers, names, email addresses, firm websites, form answers, and meeting details from analytics event properties.
We also use masked session replay to review page layouts and interactions. Replay masks page text and excludes the contents of the demo form and scheduling containers. It does not record console logs, network request headers or bodies, canvas content, or embedded-frame content. Recordings are configured for 30-day retention.
Declining collection or enabling Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track stops website analytics and clears the analytics identifiers we control in your browser. It does not delete information already sent. Our demo form and scheduling service can still process information needed to fulfill your request; analytics permission does not grant permission to load the scheduling embed.
When analytics is allowed, a separate analytics record may connect your website journey to an accepted demo request and a booking confirmed by Calendly. Contact information stays in our operational request systems; analytics providers receive opaque identifiers and limited event details. A form submission, a scheduling callback, or a visit to a confirmation page alone does not count as a confirmed booking.
We check the recorded analytics eligibility before sending later booking events. A revocation we receive stops later delivery for that journey. If a browser is offline or cannot deliver the revocation, server eligibility expires within 30 minutes and is also limited by the journey and choice expiry. A choice made on one device cannot automatically identify or change a separate journey on another device.
Analytics providers necessarily process network information, including an IP address, to receive requests. We configure PostHog to discard client IP data and disable location enrichment for our analytics events. We disable Google signals, user-provided data collection, advertising personalization, and granular location and device collection in our Google Analytics properties.
Our Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention setting is 14 months, with retention reset on new activity disabled. Standard aggregated reports are governed differently. PostHog event retention is plan-based; we do not promise that all previously collected events are automatically deleted after a fixed period. Browser identifier expiry and stopping collection do not erase previously received provider data.
For more information about the providers, see the PostHog Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. You can contact us using the details below about information associated with your request.
Do Not Track Disclosure
We support Do Not Track ("DNT"). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked.
You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser.
